CASC To host playoff series

Carl Albert State College baseball has wrapped up the regular season, claiming third place on the west side of Region 2 and positioning itself for postseason play with a 30–22 overall record.

The Vikings now turn their attention to hosting the first NJCAA Region 2 crossover playoff series.

The Vikings secured home-field advantage for the opening round as teams from opposite sides of Region 2 will meet in a playoff series.

Carl Albert State College will host SouthEast Arkansas College in a best-of-three series on May 1 and 2 at Mark Pollard Field in Poteau. This first-round matchup will determine which team advances to the next stage of the playoffs in Enid, as only the top six teams in the region move forward. In the event of inclement weather, fans are encouraged to monitor the Carl Albert State College and CASC Baseball Facebook pages for schedule updates.

“This is a big moment not just for our program, but for Region 2 baseball,” said Head Coach Paul Pulley. “To earn the opportunity to host the first crossover series speaks to the hard work of our players and coaches all season long.”

All games will be played in Poteau, and fans unable to attend can watch the action live on VikingTV.

Admission is $5, and local youth are invited to be part of the experience; little league baseball players who wear their jerseys will receive free entry.

On Saturday, fans can also enjoy a $10 cookout lunch, featuring burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks.
