Darlene (Fox) Humphrey obituary

Darlene (Fox) Humphrey of the Haw Creek community was born Sept. 7, 1937, in the Stapp-Zoe community in Hodgen to Edward and Hattie (Norton) Fox. She passed away May 8, 2026, at her home in the Haw Creek Community. She was 88.

A graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday at Page Cemetery with Brother Philip Jones officiating. Burial will follow, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Survivors are a daughter Lorraine Christmas and husband David of the Haw Creek community; two sons Troy Humphrey of the Haw Creek community and Randy Humphrey and wife Debbie of the Page community; a sister, Margaret Humphrey, of the Haw Creek community; two grandchildren Gavin Humphrey and wife Shaylee of Heavener and Hattie Humphrey of Poteau; two special children Devon Elder and Kristen Ferguson; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Hattie Fox; her husband, Leon Humphrey; two sisters Mollie Brazeal and Norma Steelman; and two brothers Kenny Fox and Charles Fox.

Darlene was a longtime area resident who dedicated much of her life to logging alongside her husband. She also worked in various grocery stores and a furniture factory.

An avid gardener, she took great pleasure in nurturing her plants and spending time outdoors. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Darlene cherished time with her loved ones and was known for her loving nature and the warmth she brought to everyone she met.

Pallbearers will be members of her family.
