Evie “Eva” Corene Janway obituary

Evie “Eva” Corene Janway, 91, of Hodgen was born Jan. 11, 1935 in the Forrester community in Heavener to Benton and Charity (Scroggins) Woodral and passed away at her home on Sept. 17, 2026 in Hodgen.

Graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday at the Hontubby Cemetery with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hontubby Cemetery, under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Eva, a cherished member of our community and a devoted homemaker, passed away after many years as a beloved resident of the area. A faithful attendee and member of the Hontubby Baptist Church, she touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth. In her earlier years, Eva dedicated herself as a nurse’s aide at both Heavener Nursing Home and Vista Nursing Home, showing compassion and care for those she served.

She found joy in gardening, nurturing her flowers, quilting, and solving puzzles, hobbies that enriched her life. She treasured her time with family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be fondly remembered. Her loving spirit and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Survivors are two daughters Joann Williams and husband Jerry, and Pamela Vaughn and husband Marvin; one son Jimmy Janway and wife Beverly Kay; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; numerous other loved ones and many dear friends

Eva is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Benton and Charity (Scroggins) Woodral; her husband, James Janway; one son, Ronny Janway; four grandchildren Amy Vaughn, Mark Nix, Rodney Nix, and Scotty Janway; and numerous siblings.

Pallbearers are Jason Janway, Nathan Janway, Garrett Janway, Casey Vaughn, Elijah Vaughn and Jason McKinney.

Viewing is from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
