Graveside service for Sharon Kay “Spud” Surratt, 78, of Pocola is 2 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola with Pastor Kyle “Snuffy” Been officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Pocola, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
She was born Oct. 11, 1946 in Pocola to Wanda Lee Howard (Higgins) and Olen Howard and passed away March 11, 2025 in Pocola.
She was married to her doting husband, J.R. Surratt, Jan. 4, 1985 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He treasured her and provided her with unwavering devotion and affection for 40 years.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Olen “P. A.” and Wanda Howard, and her sister, Trish Howard.
Survivors include her husband, J. R. Surratt; daughter Leah Short and husband Scott; son Andy Pipkins and wife Lori; grandchildren, Kyle Been and wife Kristin, Ethan Cluck and wife Kayla, Eli Cluck and wife Sommer, and Macae Jones and husband Anthony; great grandchildren Bentley, Sailor, Hondo, Maudie, Harlow and Willow; brothers Gary “Fuzz” Howard and wife Susan, Danny “Danzo” Howard and wife Robin; and numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Spiro with the family greeting friends from 5 until 7 p.m.
Pallbearers are be Kyle Been, Ethan Cluck, Eli Cluck, Macae Jones, Cole Howard, Tyler Howard, Chase West, Austin Parker and Trevor Howard.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Howard, Danny Howard, Bryan Howard, Matt Howard, Jake Howard, Kristie West, Lindsey Stuttle and Cassie Howard.
