Heavener boys

Heavener boys finish second in the Heavener Track Meet Tuesday, coming up only two points behind Broken Bow and outscoring several larger schools such as McAlester and Idabel.

The Lady Wolves were sixth.

The Wolves’ 4×800 team of Isaac Cook, Seth Lynch, Jerred Boss and Parker Brand were first. The 4×400 team of Jesus Canada, Brand, Lynch and Cook were third.

Jeremi Casteel finished first in the discus and fourth in the shot. Lynch also won the 1,600 and 800, Carson Payne, shown above throwing the shot, was third in the 110 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles while Gerren Palmer was fourth in the 110 hurdles. Morgan Alstatt finished fourth in the 800 and 1,600, Diego Cruz was third in the 3,200.

For the girls, freshman Gracie Springfield was first in the 110 hurdles, sixth in the 100, second in the300 hurdles, second in the long jump and was the meet’s highest point individual. The 4×800 team of Chloe McMahan, Allison Palmer, Camila Aguilar and Jenna Scroggins were fourth while the 4×400 team of McMahan, Kanan Summers, Palmer and Christa Keller also scored points.
