Heavener girls rally in last at-bat to post a 9-8 win over Savanna in slow-pitch softball action Tuesday.

The Lady Wolves improve to 8-10 on the season. Heavener is scheduled to host Buffalo Valley Thursday, dependent on the weather. Savanna, ranked 16th in Class 2A, drops to 10-11.

After Savanna scored one run in the top of the seventh inning to take an 8-7 lead, Heavener bounced back in the bottom half of the inning with two runs to get the win.

JaLynn Nash, shown in the photo above, led off the inning with a single to left before Kelsey Morrison walked. Britley Reed singled to right to bring in Nash with the tying run on an error by the right fielder. Anleigh Hackney was intentionally walked to load the bases before Olivia Smith’s sacrifice fly to center brought in Kelsey Morrison with the winning run.
