Jimmie Alton Billings, 87, of Wister was born Nov. 16, 1938 in Long Beach, California to James and Ruth (Hardy) Billings and passed away in Sallisaw at the Oklahoma Veterans Home on Aug. 3, 2026.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Jimmie, a proud veteran who served 20 years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era, passed away peacefully. Deeply patriotic, he dedicated his life to his country and his community. Jimmie was the beloved owner and repairman of Billings TV and a respected member of the Masonic Lodge. He cherished spending quality time with his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Survivors are one daughter Cynthia Bruesch and husband Shon of Heavener; two sons Jeff Billings and wife Brenda of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Scott Billings and wife Jill of Poteau; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his best friend, Beverly Loomis, of Wister; numerous other loved ones and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Ruth Billings; his wife, Mary (Vise) Billings; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Haskell and Dessie Vise.
