Sunday stays cloudy and unsettled with a high near 83 and about an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms across the Poteau and Heavener areas, with the rain tapering off by evening.

Monday turns sunny and noticeably hotter, climbing to near 91 with just a 10 percent chance of a stray shower.

Tuesday is the warmest day of the stretch, near 92 with a 15 percent chance of rain.

Wednesday stays hot and dry, near 91 with only a 5 percent chance of a shower.

After a soggy weekend, the jump into the low 90s marks the week’s first real heat — a good time to keep water handy if you’re working or playing outdoors.
