Heavener and LeFlore County can expect a rainy Wednesday with temperatures staying mild before a significant warm-up moves in for the weekend in the weather forecast.
A 76 percent chance of rain Wednesday will keep highs near 75 degrees — well below normal for late June. Residents should plan for wet conditions through much of the day.
The rain clears heading into Thursday, but so does the cooldown. Highs will jump to near 90 Thursday with a 25 percent chance of showers, then reach the upper 80s Friday before topping out near 93 degrees Saturday under mostly dry conditions.
Overnight lows have been staying in the low 70s with high humidity, making for muggy conditions even after dark.
Residents should monitor forecasts through the week as conditions change. For the latest weather alerts affecting LeFlore County, visit Heavener.news.
