District play opened Friday night for LeFlore County football teams, with Poteau, Panama and Talihina picking up victories while Heavener, Pocola and Spiro suffered losses.
Poteau defeated Mannford, 37-6, Panama rolled past Hulbert, 50-8, and Talihina remained undefeated with a 69-0 victory over Mounds.
Heavener fell to Checotah, 52-0, Spiro lost to Hugo, 45-0, and Pocola dropped a close 20-16 decision to Vian.

Panama, Poteau and Talihina are 1-0 in district play. Heavener, Pocola and Spiro are 0-1.
