Andre Ming, 74, of Poteau was born March 6, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Lonnie and Velta (Brown) Ming and went home to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his family on May 28, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Andre was a lifelong resident of the area who left behind a legacy of service and love. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as an engineer for the A&M Railroad, from which he retired, and devoted many years as pastor of the Howe Assembly of God. Andre cherished spending time with his family and friends, finding joy in riding motorcycles and collecting and building train sets. He was an active member of the Green Country Cowboy Church, where he shared his musical talents by playing the bass and singing with the worship team. His warm spirit and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Andre is survived by his wife, Sharon Ming of the home; one granddaughter, Sierra Riggins and husband Jessie Scott of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one sister, Sheila Trent and husband Martin of Mulberry, Arkansas; numerous other loved ones and a host of many friends who loved Andre very much.
Andre was preceded in death by his parents Lonnie and Velta Ming; and his daughter, Tara Landers.
An informal visitation to honor Andre’s life is Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Green Country Cowboy Church in Poteau. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener.
