LeFlore County’s unemployment rate climbed to 4.2 percent in April, up from 3.0 percent a year earlier, as joblessness rose statewide, according to the latest report from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
The county’s rate was 4.1 percent in March and 4.9 percent in February.
LeFlore County had a workforce of 19,318 in April, with 18,503 employed and 815 out of work. In March, the workforce was 19,498, with 18,710 employed and 786 out of work.
Statewide, rates were higher in April 2026 than in April 2025 in all 77 Oklahoma counties. Love County had the highest rate at 6.4 percent, while Dewey County had the lowest at 2.2 percent.
