A passenger was injured Monday afternoon when a pickup attempting to pass a tractor collided with it on Old Highway 112 in LeFlore County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The crash happened about 3:51 p.m. Monday at Old Highway 112 and Raymond Adams Road.

A 2002 Dodge pickup was traveling south on Old Highway 112 and attempted to pass a John Deere tractor, troopers said. As the pickup passed, the tractor began a left turn onto Raymond Adams Road and struck the pickup near the front passenger side. The pickup then veered off the left side of the road and hit a fence.

The pickup was driven by Chris Leeson, 63, of Cameron, who was not injured. A passenger in the pickup was injured, the patrol reported.

The tractor was driven by Jesse Peight, 20, of Heavener, who also was not injured.

All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seat belts, according to the report.

Trooper Joshua Wiles of the LeFlore County detachment of Troop D is investigating.
