Record high possible Tuesday in LeFlore County

HEAVENER – Temperatures are expected to climb even higher Tuesday in Heavener and LeFlore County, with the forecast high potentially breaking the record for Sept. 29.

Skies should be mostly clear Tuesday morning before clouds increase during the afternoon and evening.

The forecast calls for a high of 94 degrees and a low of 72, both well above normal for this time of year.

Average temperatures for Sept. 29 are a high of 81 and a low of 52. The record high is 91 degrees, set in 1977, while the record low is 34, set in 1974. If the forecast holds, Tuesday’s high would break the existing record by 3 degrees.

Monday’s high reached 90 degrees, with a low of 67.

No rainfall was recorded Monday, leaving September’s total at 1.52 inches, well below the monthly average of 5.30 inches.
