Virginia “Gin” Mae Spangler memorial

Virginia “Gin” Mae Spangler, 77, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away July 31, 2026, in Fort Smith.

She was born September 7, 1948, in Waldron, Arkansas, to Eddie and Martha (Buffington) Hunt.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at House of Restoration in Fort Smith, with Ricky Hunt officiating. Burial follows at Union Hill Cemetery in Waldron, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Survivors are her daughters, Tammy Winfrey (Daniel) and Tina Johnson, both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sons Dearl Hunt (Pat), Garry Hunt (Francis), Kenny Hunt and Bill Hunt; grandsons Eric White and Kyle Borchers; and granddaughter Aleigha Johnson, along with numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Martha Hunt; her husbands, Harvey Spangler and Quinton Johnson; and her brother, Calvin Hunt.

Viewing and visitation is Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Evans & Miller Chapel in Pocola.

Pallbearers are Kyle Borchers, Kenny Hunt, Garry Hunt, Bill Hunt, Eric White and Daniel Winfrey. Honorary pallbearers are Dearl Hunt, Billy W. Hunt, Kevin Gary and Chris Hunt.
