Shon William Shankle death notice

Shon William Shankle, 83, of Poteau passed away on Sunday in Pocola.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1943, in Hartford, Arkansas, to Leon Shankle and Mildred (Turner) Shankle. He was united in marriage to Frances Shankle, with whom he shared many years of life and family.

Funeral service is 1 p.m. on Friday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Larry Stacy officiating. Burial will follow at the Monroe Cemetery, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Frances Shankle; daughters Ashlea Frasher and husband Jody of Monroe, and Amber Willis of Wister; granddaughter, Holly Willis; grandsons Reid Frasher and wife Brittney, Rhett Frasher, and Shon Willis; great-granddaughter, Rayna Frasher; and sisters Sherry Barnes, Mary Roberts and Foye Jean Shankle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Mildred Shankle, and his sister, Sydney Weaver.

Pallbearers are Jody Frasher, Justin Hoopengarner, Shon Willis, Reid Frasher, Rhett Frasher, and Pete Cepeda.

Visitation is Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home
